I was thinking I would go to pac raceways tonight, but now my car is running badly. accelerates good but at a steady speed it misses, stumbles and jerks. Maybe I got some of that bad gas. anyone have any thoughts.
i would still try the filter. i put 5 of them in over like 6 months before i finally dropped the tank. the filter was completely absent on the fuel pump and it was filling/filled with dirt. which was then plugging the filters.
if a filter isint an option or doesnt fix it, can you run any codes?

The fuel filter could be the problem. Check the easy things first, like your MAF and the CAI to make certain everything is connected and directed as it should be. Check the plug wires, and dist cap too.
Sounds like it could be vacuum related. Check your vacuum lines, especailly the one to the EGR (also check EGR connector) and the big one to your PCV valve. What does your vacuum gauge read? Are you getting this miss/surging under a load only, or when you are holding the engine at a steady rpm, in neutral?
Well after all the changes-new cap & rotor, pumping gas from tank, new gas,new fuel filter, fuel inj. cleaner it now runs much better.
Thanks for all the input.

Bring it to the track on Friday and race for the Ford Drag Team. We need all the help we can get! It's just team bracket racing, you can test and tune if you lose so you get more passes. It's a one time yearly fee of $10. which includes events at Bremerton too. See you there.
