water gauge Q.

Could someone tell me the best place to put the sensor for an elec. water gauge. Also, while Im at it. I read a writeup on an oil gauge install and they put their sensor in where the drain plug used to be. Is this OK to do?

I always use the stock locations. Theres really no reason to have 2 gauges for the same reading especially if you are using new gauges. The water temp is usually in the front of the intake manifold and the oil is somewhere on the block. Look for wires going to a sensor. An oil temp would work in the drain plug, it needs to be sitting in oil. An oil pressure gauge will not work in the pan.

Theres not really a "best" place, but i say if you are going aftermarket, just use the old location
