Water in Exhaust??l

Every morning when I start up, I get more smoke(steam) from the left pipe than the right. I also notice there's a trail of water(not a whole lot) when I pull forward. What gives?

no biggie, the water itself is just condensation and due to the nature of the crossover pipe you will notice that exhaust flow is biased to one side low flow situations. it should even up at WOT though.

Also, some of the emmisions that combine create H2O, which equals water. Some car companys are trying to make hydrogen cars that only pollute.... WATER!

It's also condensation.

Ya.. water is a by-product of combustion. It's normal to have water in the pipes..

I'll third the motion on this also. Same thing with mine. I have it away in storage, but start it once a month and let it run for about 15 minutes to get it up to temps. Mine will spray some water out too. It's condensation sitting inside the muffler and pipes. bad thing about it is that's what rots your exhaust!

I know what I'm doing is kinda useless, starting it and all, but I do it to keep the engine and gaskets nice and lubed and the fuel line clean. Besides, next spring I'm putting in new mufflers and tips so what the h#!! right.

PonyBoy90: Starting it up once in a while isn't a bad thing... make sure you run it long enough to get all the water out of the exhaust.. run it until there is minimal water coming out of the pipes (or none at all), and you shouldnt have to worry about your exhaust rotting out.
