Hi All,
I was trying to replace the water pump in my 03 v6 mustang but the black heater tube that comes out of the top of the pump doesn't seem to come off. I tried tapping it with a hammer and a screw driver, but it won't budge. I didn't want to puncture the tube with the screw driver, so I gave up and just put the old water pump and everything back. The old water pump will probably leak now. Is there any trick to getting this metal tube out ? What would a professional mechanic do ? I read in another thread that one option is to loosen the other end of the metal tube behind the engine and then rotatate the tube. But that requires taking off the upper intake. I also read that this tube is hard to come by.

Any help, tips or advice would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!
