Water temp

Normally my temp gauge stays on the O in normal but everytime i have friendly speed contests it raises to the MA and right when i shift to 5th and start slowing down it goes to the O. is that normal?

Mine does the same thing. It won't stay up that high for long either.

I wouldn't rely too much on the factory water temp gauge. I have both the factory one and an Autometer one hooked up, and the Autometer one will move as much as 15 degrees without the stock one moving when its in the middle.

LOL Mine stays there all the time because my water pump gasket is leaking blah, first the readitor now this but when I first got it, it was usualy around the O in Normal sometimes in the R and let me tell you I drive it pretty hard so I would think that the temp would get higher. I'm going to get a better water temp gauge because the stock ones blow same with the oil pressure.

Yep, thats good. You have a strong cooling system.
