Will PI cams make much of a difference?
Can you really feel the 10-15 rwhp they give because
I am thinking this will be my next mod?

I know the Pi cam/intake swap does wonders, not sure how much you'd notice just the cams as the intake is still rather restrictive. Also not sure if it would be smog legal or not where you are

Heheh jk. Really though a PI headswap and VT Stage 1 Cams (that still pass inspection) would greatly improve your engine.

I think BLKSteeda01 dynoed 30rwhp gain from his VT stage 1 cams on his 99+ GT.

Karma you say the VT stage 1 cams will pass inspection but, will they
pass a smog test? From what I hear the VT stage 2 cams will not pass
any smog testing?
I would like to do the PI headswap. Is their more to it than just
tapping for the second coolant temp sensor on the intake manifold?
Did anyone have issues with the EGR tube or the heater hose under
the intake manifold?

Nope, just the intake cross-over. I bought the whole headswap kit from Parkway and it included everything I needed, well, except for tapping the cross-over.

I've heard a lot of complaints about getting the dipstick tube in but mine wasn't too bad, also some people have had issues with getting the cam timing right.
I really wasn't too happy with my 98' [performance wise] but after the swap, I like it again the only downside is having to run premium fuel now.
Before I decided to go ahead with the swap I did alot of research on it but was still unsure, so I went and found a dealer that had a 2001' GT on the lot and took it for a test drive just to see if I'd like the PI engine. I came away rather impressed, the PI engine was definitely something I could live with. So if your seriously thinking about doing the swap, it might not be a bad idea to take a newer PI Stang for a test drive first.

There were a few PI swap how-to's floating around the net, I'll do some searching and see if I can dig them up. It's a good idea to pick up a shop manual, preferably a factory Ford manual but a Chiltons is better than nothing.

Thanks again Canadastang for your words of wisdom they are much
appreciated.
I test drove a 02 GT coupe before with a five speed and I loved
it I must say.It seemed like it had alot more power than my 96 GT.
I know that the crappy non-pi cylinder heads and the bottleneck
non-pi intake manifold doesn't help at all.I plan on getting a Chiltons
manual before the swap. That would be cool if you could fined some
good threads on the PI headswap for me.
