@90lxwhite you really haven't been around here long enough to start talking the talk just yet, so it's probably best you don't. People (mods included) giving Rick the benefit of the doubt had nothing to do with him being a "site sponsor or vendor or whatever he was" and everything to do with him being a stand up individual, who was/is a master at his craft, willing to volunteer his time and knowledge free of charge to those who asked for it and all around nice guy. A reputation like that earns you a certain amount of respect....at least where I'm from.If he wasnt a site sponsor or vendor or whatever he was I don't think the moderators would've been so quick to step up and brow beat the op and the others who thought he was acting unprofessional in the way he was conducting business.
Something is certainly amiss, and there's no doubt he owes a few members here a serious explanation and a good bit of restitution....but without knowing all of the details, I'll reserve further judgement.
I've seen good men do bad things and bad men do good things. Stress, money issues, health problems, family crisis can all test a man. Until you've walked a mile in his shoes and have all of the facts (and not just a bunch of internet speculation), it's probably best not to throw stones.
I stand corrected. On another note, I and maybe just maybe a few others would've driven the 4 hrs to see if my car was still there 7 months and 10 cellphones ago.@90lxwhite you really haven't been around here long enough to start talking the talk just yet, so it's probably best you don't. Now lets let Rick have some peace.

Just read that thread, lost some respect for some people with their responses. The whole accusing one person of using two screen names that were created two years apart. That would be the most elaborate, well though out way to try and sabotage a business ever. The tinfoil hat might have started to slow the bloodflow down. Sad to see this happen with rick, he was definitely a good guy and it really makes you wonder who is who they say they are...
I always try and steer people towards using a local builder or known reliable crate engines from big name companies.
Avoids this whole mess.
I'm not trying to blame the victims here, but no way in hell i'm leaving any of my vehicles somewhere i can't just drive by and see at any time.

Are the cars still there? Not telling people what to do, but at this point I would be at the shop with a trailer and then settle up legally afterwards. I've seen too many times when things go bad, parts and cars start to dissapear.
I complety agree with the going local. Everyone claims one is a "standup guy" but what are they basing that on? You can't judge ones character based on Internet forum tails of legendary feats and maybe a magazine article or two. You have to hangout w a guy, just ask Chris Hansen.I always try and steer people towards using a local builder or known reliable crate engines from big name companies.

And yes I'm more comfortable being able to drive around the block to see how things are going. Especially with something like the auto performance aftermarket. Let's face it fellas our hobby is a commodity and a lot of performance shops come and go.

I agree. I just got back into the mustang game and signed up to a couple of forums due to wanting to talk mustang and get back into the community. I have to say that one single thread really turned me off to this place. I mean the posters in that thread posted well thought out, factual, mature posts while at the same time being completely bent over by the shop, and yet there were multiple people in that thread that for some crazy reason decided that they were the issue or somehow part of it.
Just completely baffling and it even continued in this thread to a much lesser extent so that's apparently how this place rolls. And I have no doubt that I'll be thrown in the mud for being a newbie and having this opinion but, whatever, at this point it sure doesn't matter to me anymore that's for sure. I just felt the need to say how ridiculous some of those posts were. Fire away.

There will be people you disagree with on every forum, but this place has kept my cars running for the 4 years I've been around and hopefully I've helped reciprocate with that help. It is an invaluable tool to have in your back pocket.I agree. I just got back into the mustang game and signed up to a couple of forums due to wanting to talk mustang and get back into the community. You'll be ok. You just have to figure out who the members of the good ole boys club are and never disagree w them.I agree. Good ole boys club? I must hve missed the sign up period. I think it's more like have some common sense, don't be an A hole, and don't come here telling people how wrong they are after asking for advice, and you find that this site is a bunch of pretty good people who like to help out others.
And have a warped sense of humor- especially the mods.
