We Have Calipers!

Last Spring I posted for advice on the disassembly of my "new" front disc brake calipers for rebuilding. Everyone who posted was very helpful, after much effort and patience I managed to get the pistons out (as it turned out, this was the hardest part of the ENTIRE project). I thoroughly cleaned the casting halves and POR-15'd the outside of them.
A couple of weeks ago I started acquiring the parts I needed for the rebuild....new seals and dust boots, new stainless pistons, new hardware, new bleed screws, new cross over lines and new flex hoses.
Today was the day..........I cleaned and polished the bores, ports etc., etc. then I inserted the new seals, dustboots and pistons.........I thought I remembered someone saying what a PITA it was to get the pistons/dust boots installed, but I didn't have any problems at all!
After each half was reassembled, I finished the reassembly of the calipers and now they're ready to go on the car!
I did take pictures, I'll try to post some later. Meantime I wanted to thank everyone again for their helpful advice, and special thanks to WORTH who set me up with me new, complete front disc brakes!:hail2: :hail2: :hail2:

I got them from Mustangs Unlimited, $19.95 each

Ooooops, I misspoke...the pistons are NOT stainless, I think MU may have gotten them from SSBC as one of the bags was mark "Stainless" (that's also where I believe they got the pads from too............)

And as promised....A pic of the completed rebuild....:

I see a Trailer Queen in the making.......
B.S.!!!

"sally" is gonna be driven......maybe not everyday, or on the track at Watkins Glen, but she'll be on the road!

I'm hoping for "wheels down" late Spring - early Summer, I've got a couple of spots on the rear rails (one of the spring mount holes is egg-shaped! ) I have to touch up before the 8" rear goes in. I'll probably get tires in either Jan, or Feb. I got a quote on BF Goodrich Radial T/A's 225 60 R15's, delivered to my door for $65/ea + s/h.:nice:
I'm re-plumbing the entire braking system and fuel system while I have her up on stands (the lines currently under the car are 20+ years old).
I'm hoping to start on cleaning up and repainting the engine in the next couple of weeks....as soon as I can get the engine stand outta my friend's tool shed...............
A lot of little stuff............
I need to replace the under dash wiring harness...it's FUBAR
I may or may not re-skin the doors this winter......that may be a summer job. I've still gotta finish up the repairs where the firewall meets the cowl side walls, refurbish the (front and rear -under the fender) splash guards......etc., etc., etc......................

So does that mean it will be in the Mustangs Unlimited Spring show or will we have to wait until the summer show to see it?

Notice how he side-stepped the question?

:D
I answered Chepsk8's question!

But in all fairness to the left-coaster, it will be at least another year or two before I am ready to show "sally" off like that, she still needs ALOT of bodywork and paint, along with interior, and $$$$ for parts..............

Besides, life's a journey, not a destination! She might make the Boy Scouts Peconic show next September.........
