People keep telling me that American fuel is stronger than our quebec fuel? And they can get better HP numbers due to that fact, is this true? Should we dump a little bit of race fuel into our tanks if we plan on running some strong carb'd engines?

If thats true... its cause we got a dumbass like Irving supplying it! I have never heard of that before though...

Man it’s all about OCTANE and what your engine really requires.
So what does that mean, in a nut shell if your engines compression is high you will as a rule of thumb require a higher Octane fuel to provide a slower burn rate and get maximum horse power. If your engine has a lower compression and it runs fine on regular or mid grade without knocking use that fuel. There is a good chance that using higher than required Octane fuel will rob you of power and burn up extra bucks.
You may have also noticed that some gas has a strong smell while burning (rotten eggs type of thing). This usually means high sulphur content. This sulphur content is more closely regulated in the US than in Canada. I am not sure what the actual result of more Sulphur is but I for one don’t burn ESSO or Petro Can gas because they are among the highest content of Sulphur (the fuel STINKS when it burns).
I burn 87 octane in my 96 GT and like Ultramar and Sunnoco when it is easily available.

I go to Ultramar myself for the same reason... PetroCan stinks even when you're filling the gas tank. I like to sniff fuel sometimes

use your logic 85.5 for ordinary 88.7 for mid 90.8 for plus, 93. 5 for suprem that is 97 octane I think? so for the 103 octane it should be 1,07$ /(liter)

Hummmm not really Keasbey, they charge 45$ + taxes for a 5 gallons of racing fuel! I think it's ridiculious

I was there this morning... Zeke's!

They tell me 15$ per gallon tax in??? So we talk about 75$ for 5 gallons, but it's a 104 racing octane boost... I will like fill up my tank full of that nice juicy power bar!!! The problem is... It's cost 150$ for a full tank service??? YAOUCH!!!!!

It will go down to 75cent/liter for one day every week here in Ottawa. But 6x/cent a liter..I havent seen that for a long time so I had to fill it up.
