Weekend of stop the friggin leaks has begun.

Transmission pan replaced, and no leaks.

Never mind
Started leaking again.
Don’t understand it.
Spent this afternoon until late tonight working on it.
1st tried “Right Stuff “ thought it was gonna work.
Couple of hours later started dripping.

Went full blown psycho for awhile, then decided to drink several adult beverages, and think about it.
This was about my 5th - 6th hell I don’t know times of pulling pans.
Jerked the pan, and gasket off, and studied them for awhile.
Gasket still looks great.

Looked around the shop and found a couple tubes of “ Mega Black “ gasket maker.
Used this once before on another pan I bought.
Decided what the hell—smeared the all over the pan—placed the gasket on top of that—put some old bolts into the holes, and let it set for awhile.
Then smeared the all over the top of the gasket and bolted it up hand tight.
Followed the instructions 100%.
Bolt it up hand tight until the stuff starts squeezing out of the sides, wait an hour then tighten.
Now it is sitting for The recommended 24 hours before adding fluid.
My beautiful Daughter picked me up and brought me home.
Tomorrow while it is still curing I’ll change the power steering pump, then wait until about 11pm to fill the transmission.
If this doesn’t work— I’m just gonna live with it.

Are you sure its the pan. If the fill tube leaks it will seem it is coming from the pan. On two of my AOD I had to rtv the tube into the trans to stop the leak. Worrh a look.

Every time I put it back on the lift, and watch it.
Looks to be coming from driver side front corner.
I will look closer at the tube.

I've never had right stuff fail to seal a leak. It's worked for me 100%. Its just a pain to get a pan off after gluing it with the stuff. Getting T5 apart after being right stuffed is a PITA too. I use it on all my vehicles....and my customers cars.

I thought I had it sealed.
Maybe I was a little light with it, but I don’t think so.
Maybe Mstng93ssp is right.
I will go down and check it later.

In all fairness, while reaching for a bolt I did let the pan slip from the transmission a little. Might have screwed it up.
