Weiand problem.

Ok so I purchased a Weiand Stealth intake for my 302. Per Summitt's and Weiand's websites there should be a rear water crossover on the intake. I have received 2 different intakes from Summitt and both don't have the crossover.

I called Weiand today and the guy on the phone said that it should have the crossover and he doesn't understand why it doesn't.

My problem is I really need an intake with a rear crossover cause I'm running an elec. fan, heater hoses and temp sending unit. I was also looking at the Edelbrock Performer RPM but it doesn't have the crossover either.

I blame this problem on the fact that Weiand does there casting in China. I have never had a good product come from China in my years so far and this sure hasn't helped.

What do you guys think I should do? I could try hunting down one with the crossover but that might take some time. It's really frustrating cause this is the last piece to get my car back on the road and I just want what I paid for.

Summitt will give me a refund no problem but that still leaves me with no intake.

i have one in my garage order 6yrs ago. it has a rear crossover. i have about 500miles on it, then i switched to a victor jr.

Do you have a kragen near you. the kragen near me has a performance shop in there. the sell a lot of "race" parts. earls edelbrock heads and wiend manifolds. They may have the correct one. just a thought........

the victor jr has a boss for the rear crossover, so i drilled and tapped for 1/2" npt and built an external crossover.

Why do you need a rear crossover with that setup? I run the same thing (heater hoses, sender, elec. fan) without a rear crossover on my Victor Jr.

the rear crossover is just a good idea to avoid hotspots, this is especially a problem with aluminum heads. but i dont see why those attributes of the OP would warrant the rear crossover.

so how do I run all three of these items with only the two openings in the front? Is there a T I can run?

I've run all that on intakes with no rear crossover. You can use pipe "tees" to run what you want. I use Brass fittings, but there are also stainless ones too. With the 331 in my Ranger, I had both heater hoses run, then a switch for the electric fans plus two temp units, one was the O.E. electric from the ranger's V6, it was threaded into the T-Stat housing boss. The other sender was in a T along with the fan switch

you can also get a thermostat housing with a threaded opening after the thermostat where you can install the fan switch.

okay, i get why ur asking about the rear crossover. Ya, you could run a 'T' or be creative.

i bought some parts at Home depot. I'll snap some pics later but I think this is gonna work fine. I was too lazy to replace the thermostat housing cause home depot's on my way home. I cranked the engine and no leaks but I'll have to let it run first.

Sadly my rebuilt holley still leaks gas and stinks so I purchased an edelbrock AVS rebuilt 650CFM carb. Hopefully it's decent.

If this is your manifold, there are two bosses at the rear for such things, simply drill and tap one for your extra sensor.

I doubt this is an accident, he needs to study his products more. You can't just "leave off" the crossover, it's part of the mold (or not) and many thousands of dollars (or yuan) are involved in such tooling changes.
