Weird Blinker problem

so a couple days ago my car started this weird issue, When I start the car I would get the blinker noise for about 1min then it would stop. this is without touching the turning signal switch. then I would drive, and then use the signal and the "clicking" noise would not go away for about a min again. It seems to periodically start up on it's own. has anyone seen anything like this? Thanks in advance.

Try swapping the flasher unit? My signals were acting weird and erratic and it resolved my problem on the '88.

Are your blinkers actually flashing? A bad MF switch would be where I'd start.

they flash when I engage the turning signal, but when I start the car up in the morning it makes the "clicking noise" but the lights dont flash

There is probably remnants of an old alarm system in there. In that case, you'd be hearing the parking-light flash relay clicking.

Get the relay to click like it does when you go to start the car and trace it by sound.
