Finally got the car 'running' again. The idle is dead on, no surging or anything, however, when the car is idling, the whole thing shakes more than normal. I thought perhaps it was a vaccum leak, but the idle isn't moving. What should i check?
More than likely a misfire of some sort. I have the same problem but mines slightly worst. I used an NGS to do a power balance and it said everything was fine. And now I cant remember if it shook like that before I changed the intake and head gaskets.....
Look closely at the harmonic balancer. They tend to spin and break the rubber bond between the balancer hub and outer ring. With the engine running, look to see if you see the outer ring of the harmonic balancer wobbling. If you do, then replace the balancer assembly.
A missfire would be the first thing I'd check for.. pull the wires one by one while the car is running, if one of them doesn't effect the idle then there's your miss.
Well it turns out i'm retarded and put two of the spark plug wires on the wrong plugs. So thats one problem crossed off the list, see my newest post for the next problem
Thanx, though i cant take complete credit, i did some searching on stangnet and i noticed people with a similar problem had a miss somewhere. So i figured perhaps i had the wires in the wrong place, so i looked up the firing order and it was off. Stangnet is so useful
