i have an 02 gt
will cobra cat back fit on our cars? i am thinking about making my car a cobra replica (im going kenne bell) plus i love the look of a cobra...so i figured i'd go allthe way and add cobra interior and exhaust. but i figured since they have IRS and we have a solid rear, that would cause the diference in the exhaust tubing. so am i correct? thanks guys.

i kno, many people would :nonono: on a fake cobra...but you cant say that you dont love the look of a cobra. i cant afford a cobra, much less the insurance for one.

i should just save the money after going kb for a forged bottom end huh?
thanks guys

It's probably cheaper to by a Cobra than all the parts and labor spent making a GT look like one.

either he get killed by the insurance or by parts / labor. Still gonna get nailed either way. Have you called the insurance company to see what it will go to if you were to buy a cobra? Unless the GT was paid off and I had a bunch of money to blow, if I wanted a cobra i would be tempted to buy a 99-01 and change the cosmetic things to 03-04.

well, right now, since im only 18, i think insurance is out of the question. my car is paid off, and if i got a cobra, i would use full coverage. imagine what full coverage would be on a 03-04 cobra for an 18 year old male in southern cali....
used cobras in my area run about 25-35k, depending on milage. my trade in value is only about 12k. that leaves a 13-23k gap that i would have to make up for. i dont think that all the conversion parts are going to cost me 13k, but i havent researched it very far.
i never pay for people to install parts. me and my bro always do it with out any trouble.
thanks for the insight guys

Do not make it a fake cobra. That is lame. No if the cobra catback you want to use is off of a IRS system, no you cant use it.

how is a cobra catback going to help? It looks exactly the same as a gt exiting the rear. So unless your getting IRS i don't see why you would even consider this.

cobra cat back is not the same as a gt...

Yes, you're correct...the catback is different in order to fit the IRS.

im not going fobra anymore, i'll save the money for a forged bottom end.
what do you guys think of the black cobra rims on a silver gt?

agreed. What would be sweet is making your car look like a V6, but have the forged KB'd 4.6 under the hood. sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeper

:rlaugh: i dont think my current exhaust would go well with the v6 body, plus i will be adding l/t's when the kb goes in. i wont even be able to fool people at idle, good idea though, lol
