I recently had to splice in a new radio connector to my 87 fox. Whoever had the car previously jerry rigged the wiring and it was a fire waiting to happen. Since the connector was cut out of another mustang I simply matched the wire colors soldered, and heatshrinked the wires together and bought an install kit and wired in a cd player.
Now my problem is this. When I turn off the car I have to turn it off with the transmission in gear and leave it in gear. If I turn off the car with the transmission in neutral and then put it in gear, the radio resets like I unplugged the power wire. Has anyone ever had this issue?
