Ok...I bought an '89 Mustang GT and I plan on doing a 5-lug conversion in the near future. When I bought the car it had a new set of wheels and tires on it. The seller said I could buy them from him or just borrow them until I did the conversion. Now he is selling his other Mustang and needs these wheels and tires to put on it. He has a set of Weld Draglites with 15x8s in the rear and 15x4s up front that he said he would sell to me cheap. I also think these wheels will be easy to sell when I go to 5-lug. Would it be really dangerous to run this setup on the road? Its not a daily driver but I do like to take it down the road some. Thanks.

your going to get mixed reviews on this. i have had skinnies on my car for about 8 years now. and never had a problem. i drive the car from april to november i dont feel i have drivability problems. i also take the car off the road for the winter. i dont know where you live but if there is snow where you live i would think about getting a wider tire up front.

not at all, the problem is in inclement weather.

w/ radials on front and back your ok, just take it ez.

bias-ply cheaters on back, w/ radials in front can get awfully hairy in the rain .

never kept me from it though.

Got skinnies on two cars, for like 5 years now, no problem, rain or shine, fast or slow. I am somewhat conservative about my street driving, but I have done plenty of interstate running with these.
