Does anyone do this? I have a Mac SS catback and wanting to upgrade the midpipe. I do not want to go O/R. Are the cats themselves the most restrictive part of the stock midpipe? If so, is there a high flowing universal cat on the market that can replace the factory cats with a weld in? Will it achieve similiar results in sound and power bump as an aftermaket catted h-pipe? I want to stick with an H. thanks.

yes, there are high flow cats on the market. Hi flow cats have come a long way. You might lose 2-3hp max on an NA application. As far as welding them in, you are better off getting an offroad pipe and just saving your stock pipe for emmisions. Unless you are doing the labor, the cost of the high flow cats and having them done, your better off just getting a high flow h pipe, or getting an offroad pipe and changing it back for inspection. Welding in high flow cats on the stock pipe is not a smart move IMO
