Hi,

For those of you who fabricated custom subframe connectors that run through the floor, how exactly did you weld them? I'm having my the body guy go this route to maximize clearance for side-exit exhaust, and I just want to make sure they're done properly.

Below is a link of a suggestion another forum member gave me in a prior post, and I think these look very solid and they'll provide me the ground clearance I'm wanting. Apparently this car belongs to a forum member named Art, so I was wondering if anyone could chime in (Art?) and tell me what instructions I need to give my shop to have a setup like this.

FYI, I know absolutely nothing about welding, so if you could please be specific and let me know the type of weld to make, whether to weld the whole length of the subframes, and anything else worth noting.

Thanks in advance, and here's the link...

It's a blast. Easier when the framing is there, then putting the floors in afterwards. But you run it from the inside if your front frame, and up into the floor until it's flush with the rears.

I just ran them through the frame rails, then were I cut the floor I just ran a few beads from the floor to the connectors to tie it all in.
