welding toqure boxes

Now that my rear diff is out along with everything else is it wise to add extra welds to them? They look soooo weak as they are. I see the torque box renforcments are avalable too.

While your there i would say yeah weld them up. The ones on my mustang are welded. If you plan to have a high powered application it is really a good idea to do it. The stock tac welds tend to be weak.

Thats what I was thinking too. They look like their just stamped and tacked in? Damn Ford. Spend some coin and do it right from the facory.

They really are fairly strong. They only become a problem when people do what the factory never intended - heavily modify the car. They only become a problem when high horsepower is added and mixed with serious abuse.

yeah stock street drive there fine but modded car with slick and UBER launches they dont fly.
