So I bought this 95 GTS a few days ago and today I did my first oil change on it. During the change I noticed that the k-frame has been welded in several places. Any ideas as why or what that might mean? pictures below.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Probably repair work from an accident. It has to be a pretty severe accident to pop the K-memeber. It's a pretty substantial piece. The other possibility is it rusted out, and someone scraped out the rust, and welded some filler metal in there. I wouldn't worry about it. Nothing you can do about it now anyway, aside from put a new K-member in.

I seem to remember seeing those welds on at least one of the Mustangs I've had, and the only one in any sort of an accident was the green GT I sold. I'd have to poke around under the car to remember which car, tho.
