Yeah, that's right, an import. I'm figuring that things are only gonna get worse with the gas situation so I figured I better get something a little more economical that the Cobra or the truck.

Some of you that have been on here a while may be surprised to hear that I'm going to be driving a four cylinder japanese made vehicle but hey, what can I say? It still should be pretty quick with its 137 hp and 80 ft-lbs of torque!

ive never had a problem with hondas, they are nice cars. and in most cases, nice sporty cars. they just arent sports cars(maybe the s2000, but thats a different story).

its a nice car.

I drive an accord. Cant beat high 30's for mpg.

I can live with the 100 hp and 17 second quarter mile times.

It does have some things over mustangs though. Big trunk, 4 doors, Leg room, and its cheap to insure.

its cheap transportation. nothing more.

I'm hearing I should be able to get 40+ to the gallon. We'll have to see on the cruise home with it. That should help out with the high price of gas these days. I should be back in town on Sunday and I'm thinking about cruzin' Bucks with the new ride. Hope I'll have some fellow Stangers to hang out with...even though I'll be on an import.

Could be. I'm not sure. I kept a Blue Oval worker employed. I just love the two blue Fords side by side in my garage.

You should have added "in Mexico" to the end of that sentence.

That's really a false economy if you do the math. Let's assume you drive 200 miles a week (that's what I do on average). At 20 mpg and three dollars a gallon for gas, you're going to spend $1,560 on gas in the next twelve months. Now, you spend what, $15,000 to buy a newer car that gets 28 mpg? The same driving will cost you $1,115 for the next twelve months for gas. You've spent $15,000 plus insurance plus depreciation to save $450 in gas. Unless you need a new car to begin with, it doesn't make any sense at all. My 04 Crown Vic get 17 mpg in town. If I spent $1,500 to buy a beater car that got 25 mpg I'd only save $7.50 a week and have to drive it for 200 weeks to make it pay for itself. I'm keeping the cars I've got.
