you all probably noticed my threads about my car being rich and what not.

well i decided just for a hunch to put my stock intake tube on. i drove the car for a few days with lots of starts and stops and the CEL never came on again.

figuring it was fixed, i put my chromed intake piece on. 10 minutes later the CEL comes on.

then i reset the battery and put my stock tube back on and drove it for alot with about 6 starts and stops while hot. so far no CEL...where it usually would've come on by now.

i purchased this chrome intake tube to go between the throttle body and maf for 24 dollars shipped on ebay about 5 months ago. also makes sense why i was getting the same codes back a while ago. what im guessing is the opening by the maf is way too small, its the same size as the throttle body opening. it should be larger, like the stock piece. car runs great so far with no hesitation, whereas it did before.

just goes to show, you get what you pay for.

yeah, it puzzled me too. but the opening on the right in the pic defintly is smaller than it should be by about a 1/2". it actually felt stronger and definatly more responsive with the stock piece than this...wierd
