Well im stuck on my c&l intake install please help

ok guys i forgot the name of the sensor in the elbow but its the only one that threads in, when i go to install it in my c&l i cant get it to thread in... its some cheap plastic sensor and it looks like its starting to mess up the threads, it looks like the begining of the tapped threads in the c&l are goofed up...so how do i fix this??? im getting pissed nothing on re-assembly is going smoothly at all. it looks like its soft is there a bolt or something i can try threading in to clean up the first row of threads?? any help is appreciated

A tap and die set would solve your problems.

sounds like you're talking about the ACT sensor that's before the MAF.

i don't know much, but i would definately say to put it where it belongs--if you screw up the threads, try siliconing it in place and make sure you get a good seal.

Trav, if this is a new piece, I'd contact the vendor/manufacturer - let them know the IAT (that's what it sounds like you're talkin about) wont thread in and you think the threads might be galled.

If not, Eric's got the right idea. I'd use a tapered tap.

well it is brand new....got it through late model restoration should i call them up or go right through c&l??

Seems like I remember a good bit of peeps run the C&L stuff over on
the Corral.

If others have had similar issues with them ... then I'd say you should
clean up the threads and go on about life.

btw ... the act thread size is 3/8" NPT

thanks grady thats the bit of info i was looking for i will try to find a npt tap or something this weekend
