15 people watching. Nobody wanted it though. Now I've got over 2k in parts and nobody seems to want it. I don't know if there is NO market what so ever, or if I need to sell the first one and make nothing to get some "word of mouth." Or if there just isn't a market at all.....

If you were in the classifieds, or ebay, or just on this site in the past 6 months, you would know.

Are the kits on eBay? Seems wierd, summer holidays with time for projects and all. I need a kit for a 351W like we dicussed, so I'd only be able to take the generic parts off your hands. The headers & tubing I can do locally. Just put in a 650hp C4 in so the drivetrain should be up for it now. PM me if you are interested in that.

You need to get some buzz going about your kit. Give a call to Car Craft, Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords, Hot Rod, and every other 'zine you can think of and see if they won't do a story on installing your set up complete with trips to the dyno before and after. The story could be on anyone who has already committed to buying one. Document the install, take pictures, hell, even write the article yourself or have somebody freelance the article and submit it for publication. Get yourself a web site so at the end of the article, you can have a URL linking to your site and the kits.

I agree, the site would be a low cost plus and the mags should jump all over you. Maybe the gas crunch is hitting too hard, who knows. You could try having some video of it in action as the web will be your biggest client base at first. I'd love to hear that thing hooked up on a dyno under load.

I know what he means. With fuel prices what they are, they just don't have the money to spend on extra stuff or are afraid to fork it over. I've been trying to sell a bunch of parts too for the last 3 weeks and it just isn't moving like it did three years ago.

you need to put the kit on a nice looking stang and get some dyno numbers.
besides that, the market is pretty small.

I think the biggest problem is that it is a unique item.

How many cars on the road are 67-69 mustangs?

Of those 67-69 mustangs, how many are NA and want to go turbo?

OUt of those cars, who actually has the plans, funds, and other upgrades necessary?

We are talking very small numbers. If the kit was designed for a more popular car, it would sell like hot cakes.

honestly, i wouldnt buy either.Nobody knows you from anybody else and paying that mch money over the net is scary.

Now if your kit was on my car..........and I do as many shows and cruise nights it would help.......I have taken 3- 1st in the last 3 shows as well as weekly cruises and a few magazines comming up.That would be the way to market it IMO.

Plus there were about a gazillion warnings of things to be aware of and things that could go wrong........, I know you were just tryring to be up-front and honest about everything, but those would have made me too afraid to even consider throwing money at it........

What are the chances this setup will fit a '65?

We've thught about throwing it on 12sec67 car. It would get into a mag no doubt very wuickly. But his CR is high, and he's getting married soon. So money is tight with having to pay for a wedding and what not.
There are alot of warnings, but I don't want someone with no knowledge to throw it on, blow it up and say I didn't tell them if they set it for 15 psi it would blow their motor.I'd rather not sell than sell one, and have a guy come after me for 10x's the amount I made from one kit.
Shane, I know it's a small market. But I had high hopes the first would go. I don't want to make kits for more popular cars. Those already have kit made for them. I wanted to do this for us, the guys that nobody makes parts for. hence the company name.
DK832, I'll sell it. Plan was to do a 351w next. I'll be able to get a mock up motor soon. But i have to get the money back from this one first before I can do that. I might just have to make nothing, and get the word out.
180, It's possible it would fit, but the shock towers with these headers would be the biggest problem on that car.

If you do it with a magazine, what they're going to want is for you to GIVE them the turbo kit to install on a car and for them to KEEP the kit. Then you MIGHT see an article 6 months later.

What about working out something with CheapSk8, where you give it to him and have him write up a nice article for Hemmings motor news?

would have to notch the strut towers or get a heidts IFS. Or use the stock exhaust manifolds flipped and add a pice of tude to extend the kit to attach it to the manifolds. i think that would be it but 10secgoal would have to answer that to be sure.

I can't GIVE them it, that's for sure. They can KEEP that idea to themselves. I don't really even want a write up on it. I figured if his car was in there, they always have a little blurb about the extraordinary things on a car.
