So I'm driving down the road last night in the 90, going to the liquor store to get ready for my buddy's party. All of a sudden this happens.

Well, that car never had a spare since we've had it, so I have to call a friend and have him go by my house (like 15 miles away), and get one of my spare set of pony wheels, my jack, and my tools to bring to me.

I think my next Mustang part purchase is going to be a stock style space saver spare and a compact jack (even a crappy scissor jack) to go in that car.

my car never has had a spare either, doesnt look like the can of fix-a-flat and portable air pump I carry would fix that ones. Atleast it looks like wheel isnt hurt.

At least that tire didn't come apart and tear your fender or quarter panel off.

How does that even happen to a tire? Was it sitting in storage for a long time before you mounted it?

I agree, how does that happen, the tire doesnt seem to be in bad shape, i had a tire on my truck do that to me at 75 going down the i-state but it had 80000 miles on it and was about to be replaced (guess i waited to late )...did you still get to party?

I have no clue.

It was kind of bald but that wouldn't have made the tread seperate from the sidewall.

The car is driven every weekend at a minimum, sometime 2-3 days a week.

I had a blow out this summer and it cut my tire the same way. The rim is like a pizza cutter when the tire goes flat.

That explains it, I wouldn't think a modern tubeless would just tear along its side like that

Is the rim okay? It actually looks slightly dented on the left side.

no spare, jack or tools in my car. waiting for good tires and tools is better than having crappy scissor jack fall on me.
