Well, there goes my car.

so how much does a dyno tune set you back?

Less than most others. I've already got the chip and base tune from previous work, and I get discount rates from the tuner because the shop is a sponsor of my Mustang club.

I'll be pissed if it only reaches the lower numbers some of you said :notnice:

XX Tuning in East Hartford. About 25 minutes from Springfield. The tuner in question attended SCT training classes down in FL, most of the guys around here won't let anyone else touch their cars except him.

The A trim can get up to 10 or 12 pounds, but that's with a stepped-up crank pulley. I left mine "A-trim stock" because I didn't want to REALLY push it. But I surprised lots of people with the 300 with basically just the smaller blower pulley, so who knows. I figure the heads, rockers, powerpipe and bigger MAF are worth a bit more than 50RWHP

Depends on a few things. Mostly the going rate at the shop of your choice and what year car you're tuning, along with whatever equipment you need (chip, flip-chip with multiple tunes for a modular motor), X-cal, etc.). Plus however many pulls on the dyno you need for them to straighten things out, although some places just figure that all into hourly rates. I know the top shops here charge $150-200/hour for custom tuning and dyno time for anyone walking in off the street.

It all varies wherever you go and by what you need done. If you haven't got enough stuff done to the car I wouldn't even worry about it. What's done on it?
