on my way home from work. the mustang start over heating. then pegs the gauge at 250. coasted and shut off. pop the hood. check the oil. not even showing on the dip stick. and i just changed it 4 days ago. which was 152 miles ago. after its home drain the oil and its PITCH black. oh and looks like a MILKSHAKE!!!! yumm right? put it into a container and it got up to a little under 2 quarts. well that's nice. burned 3 quarts in 152 miles. and that's all in driving to and from work. then to get food each night. thing is. didn't even smell like it was burning oil. no warning. just all of a sudden gauge pegged and was over from there.

nice way to end my long ass day. and the compression test was less then appealing to me.

Ive had a tick in my motor for a while now, parked the car, took insurance off and started savin for the next motor. Finally got tired and decided to let some people look at it and see what they say. All said "valvetrain, wont hurt to drive it, we'll fix it next weekend" LOL, pulled out of a friends apartment complex and BOOM bang bang clang bang bang...I believe the source of the noise will be pretty easily found lol. So far ive got the entire top end off the motor and its not there. ANYways, luckily yours sounds like a headgasket which is cheap if you do the work yourself, and a learning experience. You can do it!

motors locked up. its done for.
going to buy an explorer motor put the cam i have in it, some new springs and drop it in. found a complete one oil pan to intake for dirt cheap. and basicaly i can sell the intake off my car and make back more then half of what im going to pay for this motor. going to go pull it monday. going to get some forged pistons and rods for it. hone the explorer motor so clean the walls up then put it together. so should have a 13 second car after its all said and done.

yeah, gonna swap over all the accerices minus the a/c and smog though. then get new water pump. double roller timming chain. basically car will be done for about a month or month in a half at the least. but im going to take my time build the motor right the first time and clean the engine bay up with a fresh coat of paint. thinking i may smooth the bay some too but idk yet.
