All I can say is WOW!

For an N/A car they are pretty damn quick (even with 3.31s like this one had).

IMO- You guys (and gals) who are getting 2011 GT 5.0s are going to VERY HAPPY with them!

All hail the East Coasters who get everything before we do! Kidding, but I am pretty jealous considering I was at Fritts in Riverside today and they still had two KRs, 1 427R, 3 Stage 1 Roush, 1 Shelby GT and a couple Boss Mustangs there, but no '11s! Frustrating...

living on the East Coast has nothing to do with it. The 2011s arent out yet. I work for Ford and that is a 2011 pilot car. If you look close you'll notice the GT side emblem and not 5.0. Thats because this is a 2010 w/2011 5.0 and 6spd manual

It doesn't change the fact that you are on the East coast

Actually I was kind of wondering why it looked so dirty...

I'd like to take that engine in and drop it in my '07. I like the front end, but I can't get over the back end of those things.

I am more curious as to the fire wall blanket. Is it a sound insulator or heat insulator or a fire retarding blanket? Do any of the late models have it too?

The new 5.0 dropped into a '05 to '09 body would be an amazing combination! Incredible style and power. Hopefully Ford will do something about the exterior design in a couple years.

I was kinda thinking a 5.0L powered 2011 with an '05-'09 back end would be the perfect car.

I seem to be the only one who likes the back end of the 2010+ stang. Have you guys/gals seen it in person? It looks sharp all around. The only thing I wish was different, would be a painted front grill on the GT. Now with a 412hp 5.0 V8 it will no doubt be one of the most enjoyable cars to drive on the street. Besides its not like you are going to be looking at the back end of it... the competition will.

Historically Mustangs have had very flat and simple rear ends. The 2010+ ones are more rounded and busy than most previous generations, plus there's all that hideous black plastic. One of the major reasons I personally like Mustangs so much is because of their simple yet elegant style. The latest generation is a very busy design.

Either way the 2011 Mustangs are going to be bad-ass! The new 5.0, and even the V6, will make up for any questionable design with sweet, sweet performance

I am really glad I got my Mustang when I did. I have no idea what they were thinking changing the back end. The front is better, but still not up to the looks of my '08 GT. The lights look like the car is squinting. They are too narrow. If I wanted narrow lights I would have gone pre '05.

Any other info you can give us J? Or is it still being worked out etc...

Sorry about the disparaging remark earlier, both East Coast and being dirty...I remember when my car was that dirty in winter time. Go

I'm looking at 2010s (and possibly 2011s) to replace my 08...I hate the rearend design of the new ones though. The 5.0 would be great but I swear my 4.6 seems quicker than the Camaro I testdrove and is fast enough for my needs

Road & Track did a Mustang feature about a year ago. They tested the 2010s, including a specially modded 2010 with 400 HP. The 'quickness' benefit of the extra 85HP, at least 0-60, was quite minimal, a few tenths of a second. I could be wrong but although it's great to know you have 412 HP I don't think it's going to make a dramatic seat-of-the pants difference.

a few (.6+) tenths 0-60 usually translates to over a second in the 1/4...
