Went racing tonite

went racing to night for the first time i got a 2000 mustang gt manual with roush side exhaust and thats all and i took my air filter out.my first time was 14.60 and the my other 4 runs were 14.40.Is this good for my stang and my first time out on a track with street tires to.

ha..yeh b/c that 14.6 is what i got the first time with a 9.6 60'.....and like 3 months later i went and ran 1/8 again and got a 9.133

i went yesterday in my 03 GT, and i got a 13.91, this shocked some of my friends saying that a GT as un moded as mine should have been higher, is this right? im a pretty good driver, but i dont know much about stock new GT times?

I would not recomend running without your air filter, it can cause more problems than it is worth. Your times sounds about average for first time at the track.

When the 03 gt's first came out. One of the mustang mags did a test on a stock 5 speed gt to see what kinda times they could get. And they were able to pull off a 13.7-13.9 after some practice.

My first time out in my stock 03 gt about years ago. I got a 9.0 in the 1/8 mile. Which is about a 14.0 flat. On the stock goodyears you should be able to cut a low 2.0 60 foot time or a high 1.95-1.99 60 foot time.

Just practice some more.

stock 2k3 GTs run 14.5 or so here . . .
