well i went to the 1/8 mile couple weeks ago. i think my trap speed is a bit lower than it should be. what do you guys think

1/8 8.8 @ 81.8

mods
hitech stage 2 cams
bbk longtubes

weld in delta flowmasters

3.73s
Tune at 285rwhp and 286torque

Not bad for street tires. If you could get that 60ft down you would be some faster.

yeah its was on 285/35/18 sumitomos or whatever. i thought i would trap atleast 84-85.. i got beat by a c5 6-speed with just a cat back. he had me by 1 1/2 car at the track. he was running 8.6 idk the trap and 2.0 60's with street tire

That's your problem right there. Might as well put ice under your tires at the start line.

yeah i guess your right. i do spin going into second also. its like a long screeetch.. so i know im losing time. but would that affect my trap speed?

i trapped 1.9 with my new 17x10.5 315/35/17 nitto D/Rs and cut a 8.78@82.8mph with pretty much a stock PI swapped car, so yea your tires are hurting you.

Stickier tires and UPR suspension will bring you much closer to 8.0 in the 1/8th with no other changes.

Is it a 5-speed? If so, good clean powershifts will pick up your 1/8th mile trap speed as well.

You should be able to shave another half second off of that. I ran 8.82 with a 77-78mph trap speed.
