Headed to the track today to see what the car would run because it felt faster than before. I get there and my following me says my car was throwing a little bit of oil back at him and sure enough there was little oil drops on his windshield but not much so I didnt worry about it. Go to do my burnout and my clutch starts slipping badly so I stop, head off down the strip to an amazing 14.5 @ 95mph... Get back and took a friend with me and ran an amazing 15.1 @ something mph Then get back to the staging lanes, turn the car off, start it back up once the lane started moving and my low oil light came on Park the car, watch the races for a little while, leave a few hours later and my low oil light didnt come on? WTF! Stop off at a Circle K to pick up a quart of oil to dump in then went home.

Not a 1/4 from my house, I was taking a backstreet home going 44mph down it (canal on one side, few houses on the other) then I see a SUV sitting on the side so I slow down, dont know how fast since my speedo is off, go past it and its a sheriff sitting there without any lights on I drive slow by him, about 50 feet from my house he takes off and right as I pull into my driveway he turns on his lights and gives me a ticket for going 44mph in a 30mph zone at night, on an empty almost unpopulated road, and "rolling through" a stop sign. There has to be something he did wrong that I can get out of this $112.50 ticket because thats bull ****. Anyong have any advice?

So... later on that night I go to take my friend home, start up the car and its making a weird noise... It sounds kinda like a scratching sound and gets faster as the RPM goes up Tonight has sucked majorly for me I'll check the car out tomorrow since it was dark when I noticed it.

Take the ticket to court and hope he doesn't show up. As far as the car goes I can't help there sorry. Could you tell what area the sound is coming from driver/passenger side?

sorry i for the bad news but if the clutch is slipping and your trowing oil thats where the leak is...at least its a $20 part and a few hours of work....maybe time for a new clutch to??? if you dont have an aftermarket one already...i replace my rearmain when i did the clutch becuase it was leaking a few drops and i was already there.

In Minnesota I know cops cannot issue tickets if they are parked on the side of the road without their lights on. They need to have at least their parking lights on when clocking people.

yeah, its rear main seal action going on there. its an excuse for a new clutch and what not anyways. dont be discouraged that id smoke those times with a bit less mods than you jk, just trying to lighten the mood. but seriously, id rip those times apart...

Here in Florida, if you havn't already taken the driving class in the last year, just take the class and pay the reduced fine, that's the easiest way. If you have another ticket that you already took the class for in the last year, write the judge a letter and ask to allow you to take the class again with the reduced fine to keep points off the license. Trust me, the $100 now is nothing compared to how much insurance can go up with 4 points on yur license.

that sucks man, only when i replaced my rear main seal it leaked more! i would look into it, as far as what are good brand seals.

Felpro makes a newer rear main that is lined with teflon, it is supposed to stop the oil leak common when running synthetic oil in your engine.

I can almost garantee you'll need a new clutch if it got soaked with oil.

Do NOT keep driving it like this, a rear main can and will fail and dump ALL of your oil right out the back of the crank which could lead to engine failure, a road hazard, etc. DEFINTELY DON'T RACE LIKE THAT, if not for, do it for those around you.

I wouldnt even had gone if I would have known that my rear main seal was bad. Can I pick up that new FelPro one from like discount or will I have to order it from a place like summit or a local speed shop?

Well today is a little better... found out the sound was the penny I stuck in the little nut to block off the EGR bung. Still think I need a new rear main seal?

Getting too many little problems with it and it was my daily driver so I NEED a car I can just jump in and not have to worry about it running or not... Last time I drove it with the turbos it barely made it back home. I got something better coming anyways

Pay an attorney $100 to go to court for you and no points no driving school. You will get a couple ads in the mail shortly from attorneys.
Sorry to hear about your rear main dude, luckily you can do it all yourself and won't be paying labor. Your car is going to kick a$z when it is running strong again.

I know what you mean man, that's why I end up buying a truck to drive everyday, there were just too many little things going wrong with my 89 at the time and that's all I had so I bought a truck and the car sat for a year and I sold it so I could have the 95 but it's still not my fox body What's next then?

forget hiring one of those $100 lawyers. all he is going to do is go to court and if the officer is not there, he will plead "not guilty" and the ticket will be dismissed. if the officer is there, he will plead "no contest" and ask for withheld adjudication which means you will not get any points. if he pleads no contest, you will still be responsible for court fees. you are basically paying $100 to avoid the hassle of wasting half your day sitting in a courtroom waiting to be called.

My last ticket I went through The Ticket Clinic. All I paid was $85 and that was it. They went to court pleaded no contest and it was done.

That's exactly why I paid and yes you will have to pay court fees in addition to the $100 retainer. I used them once when I was 18 and have not had a ticket since then, but it was well worth it to me. I couldn't get myself outta bed that early and sit in a courtroom when I was 18.

Joe, thanks for telling me about the ticket clinic. I remember hearing about them on the radio but that was a year ago and forgot the name. I might go that route or just go by myself and hope the sheriff wont show up, and if he does I'll just plead no contest. I dont mine paying the ticket cause I was in the wrong, I just dont want the points.
