first time at the track. did 5 passes. didnt even take **** out of my car, like spare parts layin around, ect. best was a 14.778 at 94.47 . first run ever was a 15.1. was a ton of fun. prolly post pics tomorrow of the slips, let you guys see what you think. for now im goin to bed cause i gotta work tom.

happyness. :nice: my goal was mid 14's but oh well. ton of fun.

:SNSign:

alright heres a pic of the slips. first run to last goes from left to right, 3rd pass i missed third, thats the 15.5 time. the 3rd time i figured out how to launch better (holding it at 2 or so, dumping on green, where as 1st and 2nd i was just lettin off clutch and getting on gas) my best time is the last run of the night. what do you think? i think if i take the extra crap out and clean my IAC, TB, MAF, and air filter i could get to mid 14's. is that on point or no? also my tires are going bad, soon to be 5 lug and bullets, and this was all at around a half tank.

also, i put this sticker up, cant decide if i like it or not? what do you think?

so i was launching right? have some rpms during the yellows and dump it at green? it still kinda caught and dropped my rpms down and then took off, am i looking to try to keep rpms increasing and let it spin some?

DAMN 2.2-2.6s those are realllly bad 60fts. What I did on street tires is rev it past 3 and drop the clutch and feather the gas out of the hole and then nail it once you start moving. If you could get your 60 ft down to 2.0 or lower you will hit mid to low 14s EASY

Lose the sticker for starters.

Work on your 60' times like everyone said, no one sets records their first time out. Keep going out and having fun, seat time is the best thing for knocking down the times. If you plan on drag racing pretty often, there is no money better spent than getting a extra set of cheap wheels and throwing a set of DR's on them for the track.

Good luck.

i dont plan on doing it much, id just like to go out there when my friends do. yeah i didnt know what the right combo of wheel spin/traction i needed. so ill try that way mentioned next time. hopefully by then ill be on bullits and better tires.

definatly take that sticker off.

you will soon learn the name of the game in drag racing is the launch, getting the car down the track is pretty easy, what makes or breaks the run is the launch.

work on the 60's and your E/T will come down.
and there is no exact way to do it, your just going to have to experiment with rpms at the line, when you dump the clutch exactly and you might try to slip the clutch slightly, do so at your own risk as clutch life will be shortened if you go overboard with it...

all cars and tracks are different, so there isnt a sure anc correct way to get the best results. just play around and you will get a better feel of the car.

lower gears will increase the torque multiplication to the rear wheels.
on the street the car will be a good bit stronger feeling... and assuming you have traction you will pick up at the track.

without a sticky tire the car will probably spin the tires alot easier upon launch, i dont exactly how much spin your getting now if any.
