I told a few people I would post my times to do a before and after gear swap comparison, so here they are.
It's the first time I have been since the 4.10 gear installation, and keep in mind with these times that it is an auto. My previous best and new best are as follows:
Old
60': 2.286
1/8 Mile ET: 9.900
1/8 Mile MPH: 73.17
New (with gears)
60': 2.1671
1/8 Mile ET: 9.4620
1/8 Mile MPH: 73.80
I can explain why the MPH wasn't higher, it was because I manual shift the car and I let the RPM's climb to high before putting it into drive, so I hit the rev limiter. I don't think it hurt my time much, but definitely did not help the MPH. Anyways, my best MPH of the night was at 75.63 MPH.
I was overall very satisfied with the results. It's definitely been the best bang for my buck thus far for my stang. I wish I would have ran better 60' times, but honestly I figured they weren't going to get much better. My car seemed to be a little better with the 4.10's, but still missing the low end grunt. And before anyone states it, I know it is because of the intake. I bought the thing and put it on long before I started reading the info from this website. I am tempted to go back to my stocker and see if there is a noticable difference, but it just doesn't seem worth the work right now. Oh well, but for the rest of you AOD-E guys who are tired of getting stomped on by 5-speeds, the gears will hands down give you the best improvement in times for a bolt on car. It gained me almost a 1/2 of a second!
