I think its pointless to just start buying parts hoping itll be faster, sure a new fuel pump might help but if your getting the right psi at full throttle then it cant be starving too much. Instead of buying new parts, spend the money on a good dyno let them mess around with the a/f ratios, see what kind of power your making, and then start to make a conclusion, maybe all you need is a tune or something. Thats what I would have done instead of just buying stuff.

Agreed. A dyno run with a/f would have costed as much as that fuel pump.

Well thats what you would have ran in good weather at sea level.. now if you do that with all your track times you will have a better idea as to what your changes to the car are really doing.. that removes the weather from factoring in and throwing you off.

In my sig I use my uncorrrected times, but since my track is 90 feet above sea level it's only the weather that messes with my times.

yeah but there areny any dynos around here.

sure the pump may be enough at idle. thats the only time i can see the guage is when u look under the hood. It may be fine at idle. but it could be starving it at WOT at 4k+ rpms. might not have enough volume to supply fuel at high rpms.....

man, SOTP Dyno's lie to you. So many factors can make you *think* u are going faster. IE: The down time you had when the car didnt run at all... you got used to driving slower cars: The hope that ur car would be super mega ultra fast after ur project was done: the mindset that certain parts are going to change ur world.

I can tell you something isnt right,
I gained 1.6 secs and 15 mph when I went to thumpers and a tmoss lower. I would rent a compression tool from the zone or somewhere and then double check everything from plug wire order to timing tps going all the way to wot, etc.

Just to clarify. I wasn't saying all is well with his combo. OBVIOUSLY it should have ran better/stronger/faster.

I was merely stating that his mind shouldnt be *boggled* because it *feels* faster but is actually slower... but yet, to forget about how it feels because that means nothing.

The only thing that doesnt lie (generally) are comparable track times and dyno runs.

with that said, you got a problem somewhere foxfan.. go fix it.

Search around, Im sure theres a dyno within a hour or two of you.

Theres a guy on here making 290rwhp still using the stock fuel pump. The pump most likely isn't your problem. Get a new fuel filter, they are only like 6 bucks. What do your spark plugs look like? If they aren't white, melted, or glazed over, chances are you are not leaning out. Im starting to wonder also if advancing your cam could have anything to do with it.

hmmm well if it turns out its not the fuel pump would summit take it back for a refund?? i dont think advancing the cam would make THAT much of a difference though.

3.90s and launching @ rev limiter should light up any tire... something is very wrong. Who told you to advance the cam?

If you are dumping the clutch at 6k with drag radials and not spinning. You should probably realize at that point there is a huge problem.

Pull all your plugs make sure your firing on all 8 . Also make sure your getting full throttle, have someone check your throttle body when you have the gas to the floor.

theres is a vacum hose if you unplug it, it makes the car run as if it was at WOT, and can tell you what the fuel pressure is at, at WOT when your looking under the hood.

Not if you already put it in, if you take it out and call them and say it didnt work and the part was malfunctioning theyll send you another one. If its not the problems DO NOT take it out and put the stock pump in, that would be the dumbest thing you can do, you already ordered it, put it in and use it, itll be alittle more security, and with all cars you need all the security you can get with stock parts. If its the problem or not a new fuel pump is money well spent.
