Any fellow Stangers out there running the WMS CAI either with or without the optional ram air box? I am seriously thinking about purchasing this. I love the design and am not worried at all about the install involvement or time. Thanks for any and all help in this matter.

I have one installed on my 05 GT 5sp. Started out with just the WMSracing CAI and no tuner or tune,ran much better than the stock CAI.I them last spring bought an SCT-2 with 93 oct tune from one of the better know vendors.What a differenc that made over the stock tune.So not being happy with that I then went for the big bucks solution bought a Saleen SC last October.My buddy and I installed it in his garage in 11 hours,Looks really neat with the WMSracing CAI/Ramair box..Only thing was that the original MAF tube was 80 mm need to upgrade to the 95MM MAFas it was pegging the MAS at 5.0 volts..If you go with the WMSracing and plan on going SC'd then get the 95 MAF.Only thing bad about the WMS is cutting those six wires and splicing to extend them. Right now with 39 lb injectors and 3.6" puley pulling 427rwhp and 404 torque on a Mustang Dyno with stock exhaust.

I have the WMS with 95mm and ram air option. And also Have the saleen Supercharger with 11.5psi JDM pulley. This is a very combo. Before the S/C
I had the WMS Ramair intake with 95mm with the wms preadtor tune.
it was a hole new car Also I have everything For sale due to money
problems PM me if interested I'll make you one hell of a deal.

Thanks guys!!!!! I will be going N/A all the way, so I will stick with the stock 80mm MAF. I'm glad to hear both of your good experiences with the WMS. My mind is made up.

By the way, it's Western Motor Sports, not Westin.

Anyway, I had the WMS Ram Air on my 2005 GT for about 6 months. The install wasn't too bad. It only took me about 3 hours. The performance was good, especially after I had it custom tuned by Brent at Brenspeed.com. Ran 289 RWHP and 307 RWTQ.

All that said, I would NOT go with it again. With the repositioning of the coolant tank, you have to cut a couple of hoses, in addition to lengthening some of the wires for the mass air module. These changes make it very impractical to ever put the car back to stock. You may think you won't need to, but you'll get pretty nervous if you ever have to take you car in for warranty work, and the dealer gives you heartache over your aftermarket parts. Not to mention if you ever go to trade in the car. Dealers don't like to see major mods to stock. It can hurt the resale.

I now have a 2006 GT and decided to go with the C&L CAI and Brenspeed 93 tune. I am thoroughly pleased with the C&L intake, and the install only took me about 30 minutes. And, the best part, if I ever need to go back to stock it will only take me about 30 minutes.

Just something to think about.

Thanks for the input jaiasmit. I'm not worried at all about resale. I plan on keeping it a long time anyways. I've already read about what all you have to do to install it as well...nothing to scary if you take your time.

Read in a magazine that it was the best performing intake out of the 3 they tested (the other two were similar to the JLT/C&L type). Just make sure that the filter is off of the little tray or what not. If you drive in the rain and water gets on that, hello hydrolock!

I have the WMS as well and love it. I live in the rain ( pac NW ) and have never had any issue of water getting near the filter. Also I didn't cut the coolant hose, I just turned it arround and made it work.

Have any pics of it installed on your car? I'm interested in seeing how the factory hose works as you did it.

The hose they are talking about is the one that comes off the top of the coolant tank. I didn't cut it cause of the cost of replaceing it from the dealer, should I ever want to change it back, which I doubt I will. No pic's as of yet. I need my son to show me since i'm challenged by this new technology. I'm an old fart.

I believe I was a first to have one installed since I got mine from a speed shop in CA that had used it for testing and then sold it on ebay. I stole the intake, had wanted it since I seen in print and SEMA, no problems here and I love it. Also considering I have the ram air hood from Cervini's make all the more worth while!

Thanks guys for the help. I ordered the WMS CAI/SCT X2 combo from Brenspeed a few days ago and the Ram Air box directly from WMS(Brenspeed doesn't carry that) and they should be here soon!!!!! I can't wait!!!!!

Just got the WMS CAI and SCT X2 tuner. Sine it was after 5pm, I just went ahead and loaded the new tune in. Being I still have over 1/2 tank I stuck with the 87 octane tune. All I increased in the options was the shift pressure up 5% in all gears. What an amazing difference!!!!! The moment I eased on the gas pedal in the driveway, I sent rocks flying... As I was turning out onto the main road, once again I eased on the gas and it spun the tires as if I were about 1/3 throttle or such. The gear changes now are MUCH firmer(this is only 5% increase in shift pressure??? ). Tomorrow I will install my CAI and hopefully run the tank level down so I may fill it up and load the 93 octane tune in her!!!!!
