About a month ago, I replaced my carpet because sometimes on the passenger side, the carpet gets wet. My old carpet was soaked pretty bad and started smelling. I already have the heatercore lines bypassed. Ive had them bypassed for around 8 months becuase I thought that would fix the problem of the carpet getting wet. Obviously not. I did remove all the padding and stock carpet (wight reduction) and just installed a pepboys carpet on there. What would could cause my carpet to be moist and wet? Any help.

Only thing i can think of would be the heater core, How exactly did you bypass it? Did you move the ECT and plug up the water pump port? Or just connect both ends of the heater core lines. More info and i can help. lol

Crawl under your car and look at the floor boards. There is a seam where the 'firewall' meets the floor pan. This is a very good area for rust to form (overlaping joints)
If you can't see any rust or holes... Your heater core could still have some liquid in it that is spilling out.

My guess is that you still have an operational air conditioner. If you don't then you need not read any further.
If so, the drain hole for the evaperator is probably plugged. The drain itself is on the driver's side firewall and actually drips onto the stock header location. The fix is very high tech and you're going to require a special tool.
Get a coat hanger, cut off the end, jam it up through the drain in the engine compartment and roto-root that bad boy till you see the water start to come out.

This probably won't help at all but I had a wet floor behind the drivers seat. It started after I replaced the door weatherstrip. I had a slight crease in the corner and that was enough for a slow drip. Car smelled bad all winter. Soon as summer hit I found the problem, moved the weatherstrip around, and the car baked in the heat for a month. Everything is dry, cleaned up and smells like new car.

My windshield leaks. I pulled the carpet back in the pass. side front and poured a quart of water at the base of the pass. side windshield. It came into the car.
My door weatherstrips were leaking, rather than replacing them I filled the cracks with black silicone gasket maker. I spread it with some thin cardboard and shape it. Give it 30 min. and shut the door. It takes the shape of the weatherstrip and seals the car. Saves $ too.
