Wfc 8

We saw a couple turbo 4's at the Ford Challenge today. We saw a stock 84 with newer GT torque thrusts. There was another 84 that had a header, spearco intercooler, and some other things. The other one was an SVO that was black with two blue stripes down the middle. He ran a 14.77 I think. Does anyone know of a light brown turbo coupe from Indiana? He had a turbo ford sticker on the back window. Rumor has it, there was a car that was runnin 10's or 11's also. He's a local guy though so he goes a lot.

The light brown TC was 88-Turbo-Pinto from turboford.org...

There where alot more 2.3T's there than you saw. The silver 79 hatch was running high 9's all weekends, the maroon 85 SVO was running 10.30's all weekend (running my header btw), as well as a 12 second pinto, 12 second black SVO, and 14 second red svo. Oh, and a black turbo GT running high 14's as well.

Yeah I noticed the header on the one with the spearco intercooler. It was pretty nice. Do you know what kind of things were done to it. I think I saw red top injectors in it and the inline four intake which is usually looked down upon compared to the later square style. We really couldn't find any other turbo fours other than the two I mentioned. There is a guy around here named Huber I think. His car is quick I hear.

Standalone ECU, 75lb injectors, SC61 turbo, my header, ported head and intakes, Essy cam, 70mm throttle body, crower rods, aftermarket pistons, and lots of boost. He dynoed 480hp/498torque last week...then picked up another 25 or so horsepower before WFC.

Yeah, it was pitted next to the black one. The red one is owned by Bryan Hall from KC.

75# injectors can be bought from www.srracing.com ...don't expect to be able to use them with anything other than standalone...not that you need them for less than 400hp anyways.

That's about the price for the turbo...you can't just "bolt it on" and expect it to work as it does on his though...it's WAY too big for a normal 2.3.

I was down to WFC8 also and saw that same car go a 9.65 on Sunday night. I tried to talk to them just out of curiosity, but wasn't well recieved. Pretty awesome car though.

I run a turbo 4cyl Omni, so I'm always keen on what others are doing.

It did have the SVO aluminum head on it, which I've heard you could almost roll a golfball down the ports... :)

I think murpheys law bit me a bit down there, as I was talking to the Tremec guy about the TKO series trannys, and last night my T5 exploded with a big bang....I shouldn't have talked to the tremec people I guess..

Pretty sweet seeing that Cobra wild street car (cannot remember whos it was) go the 7.97. Wild street has to be one of coolest classes I've seen.
