ok so im driving to my friends house to watch a movie and all of a sudden f**k i lost my damn 3rd gear so no i get to drive the normally 10 min drive home in a half an hour im so so so pissed and i would like to know my options i wouldnt mind a 5 speed conversion but i dont think that im gonna have the money so what i need is the cheapest way out of my crappy situation thanks for the help guys

DUDE! Same thing happened to me tonight! Lost 3rd gear. Won't go past 2nd and in OD it just revs.

We're so lucky. How much does 5 spd conversion cost?

i have been hear some ppl talking about 1200 but im not to sure thats what im hoping for cuz then its almost a blessing in disgues

1200 seems way too low. I would love a 5 spd though.

yeah thats what i have heard a couple times in the short time i have looked im sure its for all used stuff off a junk car or somthing

Did your car act as if it was in neutral when you had the OD on? Mine did. It was weird.

An AODE to T5 swap will run you about $1,349 according to www.ampperformance.com
That suck that it happend to the both of you and some what strange same day and all.

yeah it is really wierd and it doesnt seem like it would be to hard to do by myself with help from my buddy but im not sure i would really like to hear some input from someone who has done it

It wouldn't be too hard if you had a lift I don't think. I think I would have to get it installed unless my dad knows how.

just check out the couple of sites that have the swap done on it it doesnt seem that hard but i dont know like i said i would really like to talk to someone that has done it before

It's not a hard conversion if you have a lift but its definately time consuming which would mean that labor probably wouldnt be cheap. You are probably best off just doing it yourself but then again it cant hurt to call around for prices of labor.

It now seems cheaper to do the swap then to get a new auto....is this true?

ok so i have another question. is there maybe some kind of module that makes the transmisson shift into the higher gears?

Don't go with amp. Well, you cant since you don't live in AZ. But they suck, they screw people over on there tanny work.
