What a great night i had!

ok so i pulled some codes of the piece. and i found a 536 which is somthing with the brake on /off control and a very suspicious 632 transmission control switch (tcs) circuit did not change states during koer. so if the just means i need a tcs and its easy to change that would be great if anyone can help me with these codes i would appreciate it

After the CEL flashed 4 times (8cyl engine), did you press/depress the brake pedal & turn the steering wheel 1/4 turn? If you didn't, that is probably why you got 536.

I am not sure as to the complete KOER test procedure if you have an automatic transmission, so I can't say for sure. But read through the Haynes manual and see if you are supposed to do something else. I think most OBD I cars w/ auto transmission require you to cycle the overdrive cancel switch during a KOER test. It was required on my brothers 90 Bronco, so that is why I think its the same on yours. So check it out and see what it says.

yea the same thing happened to me like 2 x-mas's ago actually on christmas eve my 2nd and 3rd went out, yeah i had a 20 miles drive that i had to take in 1st, wasnt much fun and took for ever. i think what they said was both clutch packs or something burned up also with some other crap. but in teh end it was better for me to fix everythign with upgraded parts and put in a kick ass shift kit, i never regretted not getting a 5 or 6spd since.

i knew this was gonna happen to kevin r. cause i remember you posting about tranny problems. around here it would of cost me at least $2500 for a 5spd swap. i just said **** it and stayed aode and was gonna buy a shift kit before i had to sell it.

Ha. I remember I made a thread saying how good my car was working at 150,000 miles. Then i said "watch, my next thread will be 'tranny gone at 153,000'"

Guess I'm a little early. 150,500 and it dies. I'm starting to feel like i jinxed myself.
