What are bolt-ons...

The 300 HP advertised by Ford is measured at the crank, it doesn't include losses that occur in the drivetrain (transmission, rear diff.) There is typically a 10-15% loss in power from the engine crank to the rear wheels.

So if your increasing from 260ish to 300ish rear wheel HP, it's equivilant to raising the engine crank HP to 345ish.
 
260 at the flywheel... or [drum roll] 226.08695 at the tires


Seems kind of strange when you lay out those numbers...

The first Gen was rated at 215 (225?) on the engine

The second Gen was rated at 260 on the engine

The third was rated at 300

Can anyone else besides me figure out that pattern?
