ok i got about 400 bucks to spend on a gift for myself, and am wanting to get some upper and lower control arms, just wondering what you guys think the best bang for the buck is

yep, MM, or Steeda, UPR, Metco come to mind quickly.
Best bang for the buck (and some REALLY quality stuff-UPR)

I'm using the Steeda aluminum fixed U & L rear arms. I like them so far...don't know what to compare them to. They may be on sale..don't pay retail. I think I paid $249 & $229 less 10% from Steeda. They may be a lot cheaper now..look at their Web... 02 Procharged GT /Nitto 275/40/17 DR's

I would get the MM or global west control arms if you like to drive you car in the curves at all. they have the least bind due to the sperical bearings.

in a strait line there are a number of good options.

install is easy on all of them. 8 bolts. 4 on the control arms. four for the sway bar.

you need two sets of jackstands and a floor jack. one set for the car on set for the rear housing. use the floorjack to compress/decompress the springs.

I do belive you need to modify the ebrake mounting bracket a hair for some brands liek the MM. I think you just flip it or something. there are instructions on the site.

should be able to do the job in 1hour tops.

Does anyone know if this will raise the ride hight of your car? I heard it will raise it up to one inch and what are adjustable LCAs for?

Steeda U/L Aluminum control arms here. To me best ment the lightest. Steeda Aluminum's are the lightest.

So MM makes four different kinds of standard control arms for the 99-03. Can anyone explain what the "swaybar mount" and "spring perch" is?

Nobody has any love for the Pro3i LCA's here on stangnet? They are supposed to be very close tot he MM's and a fraction of the cost. They are what I will use when im ready.. Check them out!

In the pic below, in front of the stack of 'raw materials', the top and bottom LCAs are flipped upside down, showing you the sway bar mounts (the bracket with 2 holes in it) - this is simply where the sway bar is attached. You can order them without these mounts, but likely, for a daily driver, you'll want them. Same with the spring perch - on the LCA in the middle of this pic, the spring perch is the round donut shaped thingie where the coil spring sits. With coil overs, you wouldn't need these.
