What are the limitations of a stock Cobra intake?

Just as the title says, I'm curious as to the horsepower limitations of the factory '94-'95 Cobra intake. I would really like to stay as stock looking as possible (read: sleeper), and I'm wondering if trying to keep the stock intake would be worth it. My goals for the car are mid- to high-12s N/A with a 306 to be built in the future. Is this possible with the stock intake, or will it end up being the weak link in my combo? I'm wanting to use AFR 185s on my future 306.

You're gonna get people saying 350hp is the limit, which is bs. I've seen gt40 intake combos with well over 400. Just make sure you get the lower ported really good and some mild porting on the top half...12s should be super easy with that combo, 11s with the right tune and sticky tires is possible

i agree with kamikazi..... hes right...just port the top and bottom manifolds and u will be good!

The upper flows plenty of CFM for mid to low 12's, send the lower to Tmoss to port match the heads or gasket match. The long runner design makes it a great street/strip intake.

You don't need 185s. Port the cobra to match a set of AFR 165s and get a custom cam. With supporting modifications, drag radials, and practice you will run 12s all day long with a streetable 302.
