Cooling? Chargeing? I have them on my 94 Cobra. It runs half way to 3/4 most of the time. Would switching to 160 stat help or would it just stay open and run the same. I have a 180 in now. Thanks

if it isnt overheating then it sounds like you okay....a 160 is probably the wrong thing to do. If it is overheating though, you should probably ditch the pulleys....mine runs up to like 210 or so if its really hot out with my pulleys....i think i have a 180 in there now

from what I've seen switching to a cooler t-stat doesn't help much anyways. All it does is take the coolant from your radiator quicker and cycle it back into the block. Then the coolant doesn't have time to dissipate it's heat...

Aghhhh,I c,That explains why I replaced 4 radiators last year.Couldnt figure it out.The car wouldnt even get half way on the coolant temp.,but I kept splitting radiators at the seams. If you dont like the car runnin that hot,you could richen it up a bit,but not so sure this is the best thing to do,you will lose some power, and I really dont know if running the car a bit rich has the same effects as running it lean.As far as problems occuring I mean!

I know I have to replace my belt on my 94 Cobra. Any one know the correct belt size with U/D pullies. Nothing deleted. I have Steeda pullies. Thanks again guys

just take the old off and measure it, or take it in with you and compare to what you think it is.....ive found that belts vary greatly with different pullies

charging is noticeable, i put my stock alt pulley back on, still u can tell. Its ok most of the time. Just when you have A/C radio, headlights and stuff all on, it charges low.

cooling, u can tell, not as much as the voltage. Mine may be b/c i have a t5 now, with the old AOD it would never hardly see high rpms, and stayed cooler. With the stick it sees more rpms just driving and of course i hotrod it more.

For some reason, my car cools great now! alot better in this heat lately, when it was colder it would like to get hot for some reason.
I have a puny elecfan that barely cools the engine.
