Optima Yellow top is the best. It will cost you more than $100 of course. Summit has them for $173. A must if you have a very demanding sound system in your ride!

Optima Red is the best for those that don't want to whip out the dough for a Yellow. I've had my Red for 3 years and its been great.

I have a Autozone Duralast Gold in my car. They run about $75.00. I just recently replaced it with another one, but it lasted over 4 years. Plus it still had warranty left, so the new one was only $35.00

Sears Die Hard Gold. Was about $80.

It's been in my 5.0 since i stored it 2 years ago and still has enough charge to crank the motor.

i vote OPTIMA but never ever let it run all the way out i have killed like 4 of them doing that. On the other hand i have never had one fail on me in normal driving conditions if maintained properly.

Yellow top all the way the red ones die on me quicker.

Oh, and just to add, do NOT buy an Interstate battery. From my experiences they are total garbage. I work at a car auction and quite often I'll have to move cars with dead batteries. An easy 80-85% of the dead cars have interstate batteries in them.

The 11 year old factory Motorcraft battery in my 95 F150 still works fine and I live in Iowa so we have real winters. Second time I've had a Ford battery last over 10 years. Awful hard not to like a battery like that.

I was a big fan of Interstate Megatron, but they don't seem to last like they used too, and their pro-rated warranty is lame.

I've had problems with Interstate too. I've also heard that the quality of Exide has gone downhill lately also. My two Motorcrafts have lasted 5+years. Decided to try an Optima RT and it's going on its 6th year.

I really liked the Optima red top I had before... I ran it down to nothing a couple times and it seemed to bounce right back without any issues. Costco has decent prices on them if you have a membership. Die Hards seem to last a long time as well, I've gotten at least 4 years out of two of them with no problems... not bad considering I was hard on batteries in that vehicle, always running the acessories with the engine off.

I opted to just replace the battery in my stang with a basic 'Autolite' battery from Shucks, since it was fairly cheap and doesn't look too out of place under the hood. I have a kind of a pet peeve about batteries with big ugly labels.
