i need 4 new tires and am looking for cheap tires around 100 a piece and am looking to get the best ones for the mustang i need 245 50 16 what brand should i go with? also if you know a good place to go let me know thanks.

NITTO!! best tires, maybe not 100 bucks probaly like 150-160 if u have a local tire store but thats defintaly the best way to go a good combo is the 555 for the front and 555r dr in the back for good traction in the back, i have just the 555 all around, great tires tho, worth the extra money

I am lookin' around also, and some of the ones I like are
-BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDWS
-Pirelli PZero Nero M&S
-Continental ContiExtremeContact
-Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Asymmetrical

There are more, but I can't think of em at the moment. :nice:

I got the BFG's listed above at Costco and they were about $110 a piece. I think they are great! Waaaaay better (traction) than the Goodyear Eagle's I had before..

So much more traction that I feel comfortable enough to actually going to get rid of my 3.08's for 3.55's next week! :nice:

tirerack.com- that is where i got my bf comp t/a's (no longer made) and it was cheaper for me to have them shiped to my house and installed at a shop than to buy them at a shop and then installed.that is how much cheaper they were than the local tire shop around here. Most places here are crooks anyways!

Kumhos are probably the cheapest you can get. Cheap and best usually are mutually exclusive. I think you need to figure out what kind of driving you are going to do before you can really figure what you would be able to give up in the name of frugality. 2 of my friends out here got Kumho Ecsta's (sp?) and at the price they got them for, they aren't doing ANY complaining lol.

Depend if you want lateral traction or straight line traction. Straight line, I have heard any of the DOT drag radials by reputable (read non Korean/Chinese brands) companies are good. For lateral road racings, any Z-rated, low milage, soft compound tire from reputable companies, will do ya good.

I have brand new nitto 555r 245/50/16's on the rear (140 a peice)
and brand new kuhmo err forgot model type 225/45/16's on the front (75 a peice)

The front ones have nice deep wet weather grooves so that WHEN I fishtail it in the rain, I can easily let of the gas and correct in any direction, and the combo works very nicely.

I know a few people running Kumho's and they're really good. I gotta friend with a firebird that switched between bfg drag radial, potenza re950's (expensive) and then Kumho's, and he ran his best times with the kumho's. Same size as your looking at. That will be what I get.
