What buffer?

Hey guys, I'm wanting to get more serious about detailing. In the past I have either done it by hand, or used a orbital buffer. My car is black and is showing some scratches that I would love to get out. By hand it's too much work and the orbital just doesn't seem to do much of anything, but brighten up the paint a little.

With that said, which polisher should I get? I want one that is user friendly that I can learn with, but will work good once I have some experience.

Also, where is a good place to buy one? What pads should I get? I would like to pick it all up from the same place and be ready to try it all out once I get it.

The same goes for polishes and waxes? I have always used Meguiars and it seems to work good, but would I want to try something else?

So do I have the right idea of starting off with the porter then moving up to the flex down the road sometime? Or would I be okay getting the flex now?

Where do you guys buy Adams polish from?
