I know you guys are probably tired of these posts but I dont want to get my hopes up and be disappointed cuz a lot of money went into this. And also, if you hate these so much, stop posting in on them. If I know what to expect, I can prepare myself. How much rwhp and rwtq should this make, also, what should I run in the 1/4? The mods are as follows.

94 GT 5spd, 135,000 miles, brand new twisted wedge heads, frpp 1.6 rockers, 94 cobra intake, 70mm TB, 24lb injectors, granatelli 75mm MAF, BBK cai, e303 cam, bbk shorties, bbk o/r X, MAC 2.5" catback, 3.73s, 26X10.5 ET streets

My car goes in for the install and dyno tune on the 20th so if there is anything else, you think i can do before then to maximize this combo (within reason), let me know, also, is it worth it to get the lower intake ported? any help is greatly appreciated

i dont even want to estimate power output because there are so many other factors that contibute to the numbers than physical components, but my guess based on hardware alone would be near 290whp.

Id say 280 to 290rwhp and 300-305rwtq... I have a similar setup TFS Track combo with a stage 1 cam, I was at about 280rwhp with out a tune. I just got a SCT tune and hoping to put more HP.

IMO... Id go with a better Intake and maybe some Long Tubes instead of the shorties.

Good luck

i would be more than happy with 290, the shorties and cobra intake were budget oriented. what thots do yall have on porting the cobra lower?

Porting the lower is a very smart move. Be sure they know what theyre doing and not just a fel pro 1250 gasket match job. Obviously theres better cams but it doesn't seem like youre looking for big power so you should be ok.

Dude, that setup will be great. People always seem to think that an unported cobra intake is not a good choice on a HCI car. I totally disagree.

Obviously, if your stricktly looking for hp numbers, a higher rpm manifold is the way to go. But you trade away a good amount of torque and hp below 4500 rpms just for gains in the 5000 rpm area. On a HCI 302 (not 331, or 347) an unported cobra is a great choice, especially for the e cam.

I remember an article on this 5.0 magazine awhile back. The GT40/cobra intake did very well.

Thanks for the responses guys. I think Im going to have the lower ported. Are there any ignition upgrades that need to be made or is stock stuff good enough for my setup?

Remember Miami vice? The e-cam predates Miami Vice. Step up to something split lift and split duration, like a trickflow stage 1 or a crower 15511.

I would get the Cobra ported, so that it matches the trickflow heads. Mediocre parts can yield fantastic results if the combo works together.

I don't really see how the cam and the intake should be pared... the cam should be the last part of your combo, the piece that ties it all together. Build the combo around the heads!!

thanks for the input guys, i didnt choose the e cam, it came with the car and i dont have the resources to replace it myself or the money to pay someone else to do it. its a decent cam and i think ill be ok. whenever i upgrade to a 331 with all forged goodies i will definitely go with a custom grind but this is just a temporary setup. well, we have a few hp and tq guesses, any guesses on 1/4 mile performance...? im not saying im the baddest mama jama driver but ive got 5 yrs of drag racing experience in everything from a 10 sec car to a 15 sec car so factor in that I am a decent driver... i hope for low 13s to maybe a high 12 on a good day...

I'm gonna say 270 to 290

Some of it will depend upon how good the tune is

I hope you prove us all wrong and do 300 or better

It went into the shop today. I had the lower ported by Tmoss. The guys at the shop said my combo was mild enough that a tune isnt needed but I will throw it on the dyno next week and let you guys know how it does.

I'd be willing to bet you'll be very pleased w/ your combo, I'm trying to scrape cash together to get some heads to complete a similar combo,

Please dont forgive the Magic Gas Pills, and the Fuel Magnets, those will be near 500rwhp

Really keep us updated on the dyno output but i guess as the others 280-300 rwhp
