What can i use to seal my airfilter to box?

i have a conical k&n filter in a march ram air box that doesnt even come close to fitting properly. i'm wondering what products are out there that can seal up to 1/2" of gap so i can maybe get some kind of forced air through my filter? i tried silicone but its just too much gap and doesnt work at all....... any ideas? it cant really be permanent either because i have to take the filter out for cleanings.....

buy the proper filter for the march box...
or some dumb dumb...sticky putty stuff maby will work

i think its the right filter. i think its just because of my stupid C&L intake tube- its a little shorter than stock and puts the filter at a different angle.... i can straighten it out a bit but then the tube rattles on my inner fender... i'd really like to be able to just seal it how it wants to sit. only one side is bad, but i'd like to seal it all the way around...

Some of that adhesive-backed foam or rubber weatherstripping, perhaps...?

i'm kinda looking more for something like an expandable foam or maybe some sort of putty??? i'd like the seal to be air tight, because i think if any pressure actually develops, it will just force the air out of the seams rather than through the filter.....

another idea...you can get this at a home depot or most hardware stores...it's called packing rope. It's like thoose water noodles but you can get them in different sizes from 1/4 inch up to like 1 1/2. You just stuff it in the gaps. I think it's ment for gaps around doors and windows and stuff like that but that and some foam tape may do the trick. or just that foam tape
