Well im getting a higher paid job soon so Im thinking of letting my fox be just a weekend car to play in. I want to buy either a 03/04 cobra ,a new 5.0, or maybe a used gt500. I know the 03/04 cobra would be the cheapest an prob the gt500 would be the most but without factoring in the cost of the car wich one would yall get.

Depending on how nice your fox is, you most likely will never drive it anymore if you get any of those three other cars. I would most likely get an 03/04 cobra out of the group just to answer your question. They are a short run (2 years), and Ive just always had a softer spot in my heart for them over a GT500. New 5.0 is nice, but the depreciation would kill me inside.

i'd vote 03-04 cobra also out of those. i just like em... the look nice and are pretty darn peppy bone stock.

but if i was going to buy another vehicle and keep my car a weekend driver i'd be looking for a nice truck or a nice newer beater. i first bought my 91 f150 for a daily beater and now its been moved to work truck/parts hauler/car puller and i have an 06 nissan fronteir as my daily driver. its pretty nice having two completely opposing vehicles i got the mustang as my street/track toy and my nissan as my daily driver. they both have their place and i dont have to choose between the two. if i want to tear up the road it will be the 94 if i want a nice smooth drive with a/c i take the truck. but thats just me. and plus i know if i had a new mustang it wouldnt be long before i was tearing up the track with it and wanting to do some work on it as well.

I'd buy something with good gas mileage, save the money to spend on your stang. If you get any of those cars, you won't want to drive your fox anymore.

:Word:

If you're fox is already a pretty sweet ride and is going to be relegated to weekend toy duty, I'd opt for a "plain jane" daily driver that gets good gas mileage.

I think my age might be starting to show...

All three of your choices are gonna require premium fuel and their insurance costs (especially full coverage - unless you plan on buying outright and only carrying basic ins?) are going to be on the higher side because of the way insurance companies rate those types of cars.

If you can easily afford having two really nice mustangs, well, more power to you. If money wasn't an issue, I'd pick the new 5.0 with a 03/04 cobra coming in a very close 2nd place.

Maybe consider dumping some of that extra income into retirement funds or other investments? Or pay off bills or other loans with a high interest rate? Just some suggestions - I know it's a personal decision and the temptation is very great to splurge when extra money is discovered.

Congrats on the better paying job btw and g'luck - sure isn't a "bad" problem to have !

i'm with cobra90 more than anything ... pay off the credit cards and mortgage as fast as possible. then you will truly have plenty of money to get the car of your dreams.

but if you want to get a car now, you might look into a late model vette. they are great drivers and the insurance is actually not as high as it is for mustangs

of those options i would go with the new 5.0. could serve as a daily driver with plenty of power on tap without abusing a limited production car. but honestly I'm with the other guys, i would get a real nice daily driver with decent gas mileage and then pimp the hell out of the fox.

Well thanks guys. Pretty much made up my mind if not a cobra then a nice truck and do something radical with my fox.

03 cobra with a solid axle, or a 03/04 lightning. The lightnings get terrible gas mileage though
