I have a 68 Mustang Coupe with a standard ford 2bbl carb. I want to convert it to a 4bbl and i am hoping for some suggestions on which carburetor and intake i should choose...
i would recomend either the performer rpm or the weiand stealth intakes, your pick both are good. for a carb, if the engine is under 320 ci, and making less than 400 hp stick with a 500 cfm carb, the edelbrock and the road demon are good ones. if you have an engine over 320 ci, or making more than 400 hp then step up to a 600 cfm carb, again the edelbrock or road demon carbs are good ones.
You also can't beat the factory's old setup---- which consists of one of the following intakes ( these are all the same intakes, just different names/brands) the old "Cobra" high rise dual plane , the old Ford C9OX or the current FMS A321 and Edelbrock's old F4B. Any of these with a Holley 600 cfm ( vac. secondary) will get you what you want. If you have a 4 speed car, and you're contemplating more mods later, you might also consider a 600 cfm double pumper
i have a 68 coupe with a 2barrel too, i've looked around through a few forums and decided on the weiland stealth with a demon carb too, now i just need to save up some cash or the upgrade.
